Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS)

The Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery program aims to produce socially responsible and competent medical doctors who are able to meet the existing and emerging challenges of national and international healthcare system. The course is unique in that it is a community oriented and partly community based program. It focuses on early exposure to community medicine and clinical subjects, follows an integrated approach in learning, includes problem based learning, and promotes self-directed learning. The course also focuses on medical ethics and information management. The graduates of MBBS program will be able to take medical history; perform clinical examinations, diagnose various diseases and treat them, manage life-threatening medical emergencies; communicate with patients and their families; plan and manage preventive, promotive and rehabilitative health services and conduct research in health sector.

Program duration : 5½ years
(4 ½ years medical school; followed by 1 year rotatory internship)

Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS)

The Bachelor of Dental Surgery program aims to produce knowledgeable, competent, skillful and socially committed caring dental surgeons who are able to meet the professional and social requirements in dental health care.

The graduates of BDS program will be able to recognize, investigate, treat and prevent dental health problems; organize preventive, curative and promotive dental health care programs in hospital, and community settings; communicate effective with patients and their families; and perform the highest possible standard of procedures which are within the area of his/her competence.

Bachelor of Audiology, Speech and Language Pathology (BASLP)

The Bachelor of Audiology, Speech and Language Pathology program aims to produce competent and compassionate service oriented audiologists and speech-language pathologists who are capable of identifying, evaluating, treating and rehabilitating the sufferers of speech-language and hearing disorders.

The graduates of BASLP program will be able to identify the presenting speech-language and auditory complaints, evaluate the hearing status; assess the aural health and recognize aural signs of common systemic diseases; evaluate for proper hearing aid, prescribe and fit appropriate hearing aids; refer patients for medical and ENT consultation when necessary; plan and implement community based rehabilitation services; support cochlear implantee in audiological issues and provide auditory-verbal therapy to cochlear implantee children
